Studio A Leader (3rd–5th Grade Midweek Program)
Studio A is our Wednesday night ministry for 3rd–5th graders, running from late September through March. It’s a high-energy, relationship-focused program where kids experience games, worship, Bible teaching, and small group discussions.
The program runs 6:30–8:00 PM, and leaders are asked to arrive at 5:45 PM for a short leader meeting where we review the plan for the evening, assign roles, and pray together. Volunteers are also provided dinner each week, since the program begins right after the workday.
The evening typically looks like this:
Opening & Check-In – music, videos, and activity stations while students arrive
Games – large group fun and team activities
Message – Bible teaching
Worship – singing together as a group
Small Groups – grade and gender-based discussions that help kids apply the lesson
During the opening time, volunteers help with a few different stations such as:
Snack Shack – students redeem tickets they earn for snacks
Trinket Table – students exchange tickets for small prizes
Check-In Table – greeting and signing students in
Student Engagement – sitting with kids and connecting with them as they arrive
Each volunteer is assigned a small group of 3rd–5th grade boys or girls and stays with those students throughout the night—supporting them during games, encouraging participation in worship, and leading a short small group discussion at the end of the evening using provided questions.
Throughout the season we also have fun theme nights (like Pajama Night, Neon Night, and Ugly Christmas Sweater Night), a skating rink field trip, and a special final night called Journey to the Cross, where we walk through Jesus’ journey to the cross in a reflective experience.
If you enjoy building relationships with kids, having fun, and helping them grow in their faith, Studio A is an incredible place to serve.
